Identification method of waste stainless steel
Waste stainless steel is a high alloy steel with higher value than ordinary scrap steel, and it will not be mixed together in domestic recycling. However, some waste stainless steel is often mixed with scrap steel imported from abroad. In this case, we can adopt the following inspection and identification methods:
1. Difference from toughness and hardness: ordinary scrap steel is soft and tough, easy to bend and not easy to break; Chromium stainless steel scrap is hard and can not be broken when hit; Nickel-chromium stainless steel scrap is tough and can not be broken when hit.
2. Difference from oxidation resistance: ordinary scrap steel is easy to oxidize and rust, and is yellow; Chromium stainless steel scrap is not easy to rust; Nickel chromium stainless steel scrap is not easy to rust.
3. Color difference: common scrap steel is black and brown; Chromium stainless steel scrap is white after pickling; It is brownish black without pickling; Nickel chromium stainless steel scrap is silvery white after pickling; It is brownish white without pickling (chrome manganese nitrogen steel is black and hard); The cold-rolled and un-annealed ones are silvery white, reflective and hard.
4. Difference from magnetism: ordinary scrap steel can be attracted by magnets under any circumstances; Chromium stainless steel scrap is magnetic and can be attracted by magnets; Ni-Cr stainless steel scrap is non-magnetic under annealing condition. After cold working, it will have a little magnetism, but the high manganese steel and chromium manganese steel with high manganese content have no magnetism..
5. Difference from luster: ordinary scrap steel has luster without oxidation; Chrome stainless steel scrap has no luster; Nickel chromium stainless steel scrap has luster.
6. Use copper sulfate to wipe the difference: ordinary scrap steel is purplish red; Chromium stainless steel scrap does not change color; Scrape off the oxide layer of nickel-chromium stainless steel scrap, drop a little water, and wipe it with copper sulfate without discoloration.

Recovery and analysis of waste stainless steel
In China, the stainless steel resources are even more scarce. Every year, there is hardly any waste stainless steel that can be recycled. Because of the long service life of stainless steel, it will not be scrapped in several years or even decades. Therefore, the amount of scrap steel recovery is less. Therefore, a large part of China's waste stainless steel recycling depends on imports.
